Thank you! That’s a great idea, similar to how the knife tool constrains the axis I presume? I’ll add it as an issue on GitHub so I (or anyone else) can take a look into it.

Ok, thought if one paints a fixture it rarely happens to be an organic, freehand shape

1.2 is out! All tools have live preview and additional shortcuts to update as you paint. Also, Light Painter draws straight lines by default with mouse clicks, holding down draws squiggles

1.2.7 was released as of a couple weeks ago!
- “eternal dragging” as seen with other Blender tools, allowing users to continually increase offset and light strength
- Optimized mesh evaluation and better live preview for mesh tools
