Light through glass

Hi there,

I’m relatively new to blender by about a few weeks and I’ve gotten a pretty good jist of modelling but now I’ trying to focus on materials.
I’ve made this compass model and I want to have a glass lens on it, but not much light goes though it. What can I do to brighten up the inside?

I’ve added the file in case anyone wants a look at my materials (Some of them are only place holders by the way)

compass.blend (1.53 MB)

Glass needs something to reflect and it’s better to mix in some components if in Cycles.

Thanks for the help eppo. I’m guessing glass doesn’t just take on the colour you give it in the materials properties, it also reflects the world’s colours.
