Lighting the inside of closed mesh with HDR ?

HI probably a noob lighting question but is it possible to light the inside of a sphere with HDR lighting ? Using Cycles

Enviroment liighting works fine externaly but is there a way to get this to work inside a closed mesh sphere, cave or any other internal based mesh…

any pointers to links or suggested solutions appreciated


turn off shadows in the objects cycles properties.

or you could uv map a sphere with your hdr texture, put it inside your area, then disable camera in the the objects cycles properties.

couple of good tips to try out, an emission shader with the sphere sounds like it could be a good solution thanks for the tips…

A sphere with Hdr mapped to it with an emission shader done the trick , the fix was staring me in the face but just couldn’t see it for all the fireflies :smiley: thanks again
