I hope this is the right place to post this!
Hi all, I’m currently having problems with the lighting in Blender.
I put a new material, scene lights are activated, my robo buddy has the material everywhere, but the light doesn’t seem to affect it! Not in Eevee nor in Cycles. It’s all a big, dark gray blob.
Note: I’m following a Domestika tutorial and don’t think I deviated anywhere as far as textures and lights go, which makes me a bit worried.
NOTE Note: I tried another default cube with subdivided surfaces in a default file and the point light seems to work just fine. It’s with the robo buddy that I’m having problems with.
I have a lot of questions, looking at this… why does that “big grey blob” have a bounding box? That’s not normal light viewport behavior at all Can you share your file?
Hello! I would love to be able to upload, but I… joined about half an hour ago, and permissions won’t allow me to upload files, sorry!
I think it may be because the ‘gray blob’ has a subdivision modifier applied. It was previously a plane.
Sorry about the hassle!
No worries Why is that plane there? It looks like it’s blocking the light to me, but again it’s hard to say.
You can upload your file to https://pasteall.org/blend/ , if you want
The plane was supposed to be a sort of ‘backdrop’ for the robo buddy. I’ve attached another image from a sort of ‘behind 3/4’ view!
The plane is supposed to be behind the character, so it shouldn’t be obstructing the light :0
