Hello Everyone! how can we make a glowing lamp… so that you can see that it glows when you render the picture.
I’m working on a car and want it to look like the cars lights are the light source (except prom other spotlights) because you can see it’s lights on the ground. I’ve placed a small spotlight in each of the lights of the car. But how can you see that the cars lights is glowing/ how can you make it look like they’re glowing?
And how can you make a lens flare in blender?
Hoping for help.
Well, the easiest method might be to enable ‘halo’ for the spotlights, although this is meant for volumetric rendering, it can also add a glow around the lamp. This really works best though when the lamps are tracking the camera.
To add lensflares in blender, you simply use a single vertex (add plane, remove three vertices), and add a material with ‘halo’ enabled, then the various lensflare options become available. Place the vertex where the lamps are. Creating a good realistic lensflare can be a bit difficult, but the key thing is (try) to be subtle. Using the unified renderer can also improve the quality for both methods (halo lamp and material).
