Limit the art to the outer part

How can I limit the art to only the outer surface of the cup ? I selected only the outer area, but the art gets applied to the whole area. Using v 2.8

Where in the UV area are the faces of the inside of the cup placed?

I don’t usually wrap thing but I believe you can separate the outer face of the cup in modeling or create a material and assign it to the outer.

I selected only the outer faces. I guess that is what you asked.
