Limit timeframe of "Suggested Topics"?

I seem to notice quite a lot of “necroposting” around here lately and I assume this is due to the “Suggested Topics” section below the current threads.

Many of those suggestions made there are very old and it is quite easy to lose sight of the threads’ age. Yes, there is the “Activity” column, but you have to look at that very closely: A thread from May 12th, 2018 will be shown there as “May 12”, while a thread from May 2012 will be shown as “May '12”. That apostrophe makes for a 6 year difference in thread age…

Is there a setting in Discourse to limit those topic suggestions to - let’s say - topics from the last 2 years or so?

I don’t mind the necro suggestions, but maybe threads could be autolocked if they haven’t been posted in after n days?

Suggested topics are max. 365 days old, so I’m not convinced this is the cause. It can also be that the search engine is just better than in vBulletin which could help people find older posts (and in search, newer posts are prioritized too).

Yes that is confusing, I agree. I’ll see if I can change the years to a full year notation.
