Limiting armeture joint movement?

Hi blender team,

Does anyone know of a simple (Ted Friendly) way to limit the amount a bone can move?
Forexample, a leg bone, joined at a knee, One would not want it to move freely in all directions, but more realistically in the limited 90* arc that a normal lower leg would move.

Does that make any sense?

Hit N to bring up the Transform Properties subwindow . Hit the “lock” icon on the axes you don’t want to rotate around for that bone .

That won’t limit the rotation to 90 degrees along the unlocked axis(which BTW is not correct for the lower leg, it is actually closer to 180), so you might want to use the Limit Rotation constraint on the bone and set the values there as well .
