Five lights in scene. Is there anyway I can control ‘Energy’ / intensity of all five with several mouse clicks instead of dozens. I would like to take them all down to zero and then bring them back up to their original value with one slider or however. I’m attempting a animation with much going on including those lights. If I could only gang them together.
A light is an object that is linked to a Lamp DATABLOCK. You can link all lights to a single lamp DATABLOCK and they will all share the same parameters. If you animate the linked DATABLOCK all lights will be synchronized.
The linking occurs in the Object Data context of the properties panel.
Atom, was called out of town. Attempting your solution now. Thanks.
Atom, appreciate the help and I did indeed get three lights linked. At which point they all went to the same intensity value. I’m convinced what I’m trying to do can’t be done. And, I will have to keyframe the intensity of each light individually. Once again appreciate the help.
Isn’t that what you were asking for in your original post as it sounds like that to me. You need to be clearer on precisely what you want to do. If you want a slider of some kind just keyframe the change in intensity and animate the change it with a driver (another object or bone)
Bob, thank you. ". …take them all down to zero and then bring them back up to their original value… . " At seventy three I know my skills aren’t what they use to be but I had no idea writing was one of them. Regardless while I’ve been using Blender for two years many times it’s almost as confusing as that first day. Such was this little evolution I was attempting here. I only come to the forum after viewing every tutorial I can pull up. In this case none of them addressed that specifically. Once again thanks for the help.
