Can you elaborate what’s your issue and why you don’t like this plan to improve overrides with dynamic parameters? I am curious to hear about your workfow.
I am for one couldn’t use linking for complex setup and had to invent different weird ways to create scenes and variations of scenes with the sama assets. It was a HUGE pain to do this.
One of the reasons I now do all the scenes assembly and layout in Houdini USD. It’s just perfect.

I am glad they’re acknowledging these shortcomings and planning to improve it. I’d rather they embrace the USD but the improvements that are planned seems good to fix crippled linking system.
