just a simle question who use linux and (what kind of linux) for GE?
I used Ubuntu and everything is allright. Any linux distribution will run allright. Ubuntu is a very good start in the linux world.
I use Ubuntu newest version and it is bretty good. Only i cant use Blender 2.25
Another vote for Ubuntu.
I use Slackware 11 (just to be different
I’m using Debian (unstable) here, but for blendering I think I would suggest ubuntu (which is very similar to Debian anyway, but simpler to setup/use) as well
Werner
Kubuntu here.
ubuntu too …
I’m an outsider here
using openSuSE
and I DO NOT recommend it for beginners
you must have exerience with linux if you want to use suse I’m afraid…
but after three years I think I know the strange things about it
works very nice with an ati-card at the moment
Ubuntu also (one could guess :))
than this is not will be a surprise i use ubuntu
btw somebody try this auto unwarp script on ubuntu with 2.42 rc2?

it not work for me
OpenSuse isnt that unfriendly the installation for it is very friendly, however you can get stuck in rpm dependency hell tho.
I also use ubuntu…
everything works good for me, and it was easy.
I also think Slack is great…
Blender worked good for me when I used slack 10.1 too.
Open Suse 10.2 for me. No dependency problems here. I’d recommend it over Ubuntu. Though Ubuntu has much nicer font rendering than Open Suse.
