Lion Fish

Hi there,
I wil be posting updates about the modeling of a Lion Fish, one of my favorite fish. I’m not an expert a but did some work with Blender in the past. Who knows, if I have time, maybe this little guy will be part of a new short film.

Here is the result after a first round of raw modeling (more than 1 hour):


The main body is using subdivision surfaces and miror modifier, the rest will probably not. Of couse, most of the shapes will be detailed later.

Any advice is welcomed. Thanks a lot guys.

this is a good start. I wonder if it wouldn’t be better to try to extrude each section of the fins? you have one flat fin that you now have to try to cut up. but you could try to model it in a way where you can extrude each fit individually.
just a thought.
