So, I’ve been messing with some shape keys. and I am having a ball. I do have a problem with the shape key screwing up the hair particles. You can see when he is snarling the hair around his mouth gets long and in his mouth. I’ve included pictures fully rendered as well in particle mode. Any help? All comments and suggestions are welcome. Also check out the short animation of him snarling. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q94-kygysK0 I am also thinking of buying a new computer. I am thinking the better the video card the faster render speeds will be. I’d appreciate any input on that subject as well.
The hair in the render is really good! It really looks like real lion.
I have been modeling my head with plans to have it hanging from my lion’s mouth by the hair. (not seen here, the hair that is). I have animated the cat jumping up on a rock and then at the camera. I thought it would be fun to have him reappear with my head, hanging by my hair, in his mouth. Here is my head model so far. I will post the animation soon. What do you think?

I know nothing about organic modelling but that looks good
I’ve mapped some textures and worked on my hair and am anxious to know what people think. It doesn’t look exactly like me but it definately has a likeness

Nice UV mapping and modelling.
How did you go about mapping the textures? “Direct” photo mapping, “cut and paste” photo mapping, or hand/digitally painted?
Just to tell you, there are still triangles in that mesh. In any model you want rigged you might wanna make it all quads.
Actually their are no triangles it just look that way because of how I arranged the verticies
I used photos to map the texture. A front view a 3 quarter view and a side view. I jumped back and fourth to photo shop adjusting lightness and colors until I was satisfied with how everything was blending together. I will use other photos to texture the inside of my mouth, teeth and toung and so on.
This looks very very good! I have been using blender for almost a year now and cannot get anything close to that good!(maybe it’s because I have been using mainly the game engine.)
You’re the kind of n00b I wish I was! Awesome! A better integration and some contrast and balance tweak in photoshop and this will be a great scene!
thanks guys, I appreciate it.
Here is the animation of the Lion just befor he appears with my head in his mouth. I have some learning to do befor I animate the next part so it may be awhile before I past that scene, however I did want to share this much. It’s not perfect, but I think it is good enough for now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Er-2Ck0w90
That animation is pretty good. Needs a bit of touching up though. When he jumps at you, he should kinda crouch first(right now it looks like he jumps with his feet), and the jump should me more smooth(all of a sudden it moves downward)
You could probably sell your lion for 50$-100$ on turbosquid.com
Cool, Thanks for the tip.
