is there any way to make liquids such as lava or water run down something, like the side of a volcano or someone’s face (tears)?
try using meta objects
i suppose yes.
use the latest tuhopuu build, which has a new particle system with gravity and deflectors. this way you can have dupliverted metaballs interacting with surfaces.
marin
instinctive-blender has something that can come quite close to what you are looking for…
thanks, but what is tuhopuu build??
it’s a fork from the regular blender development and has some experimental features. some of them find their way in to regular blender releases. check out the “Testing builds” forum on blender.org, where you will find links to download the latest tuhopuu builds

if the water is fast running water, halo particles might be a better option than metaballs. Also, one time, I took a video of running water from a bridge, and applied it to my CG river, and it looked fan-freakin-tastic. Especially when I placed some rocks to match up with the turbulent areas of the texture.
cool, is that video posted anywhere were i (and others) can see it?
