little anim with Red-Nelb, wip.

Hi all,
wanted to try some character animation.

I love the rednelb rig from pepeland, so I used it untouched for yet, thanks to pepeland.

The idea is that Red-Nelb will seed a coin fallen from sky …

My first character anim, comments and tips welcome.

Background added, will finish the animation …

Vector blur and composite are ugly, just a quick test to see.

I like it!
But it looks a bit of when he’s scratching his head. or is he rubbing it?

Hey there,
I like your shading, especially the choice of colors. Maybe you could create a more interesting sky.
Your animation looks believable but you could check the ‘kneel down’, since that seems to be someway off (maybe more ‘weight’ & secondary motion?)

Great work. I’ll follow this with great interest.
Greetings.

Thx,
I’ll tweak the anim at the end so it looks nice on every cam view, for now I’m adding details, have already cut the scene with 3 cameras.
The three object linked scenes added in the sequencer seems to crash blender quite surely when F12, but reads well in openGL …

Another render to see, have to tweak the anim, the coin/hand, some missing keyframes at the end.

Watering is also missing for yet …

Tried to get the sequencer working with multicam from scenes, with composited sequences, but couldn’t get something out with 2.5 beta, had to switch to 2.49.

Edit :
cutting the scene in openGl works fine with mutlicam, but crashes or hangs when render, also, cant update particle cache through linked scenes so always something was missing in the render …

The part where he scratches the head, you might consider freezing the elbow on the other hand and shoulders, so that scratching becomes almost the only movement in the scene, and move fingers a bit faster. Also, when he plays with the coin, the coin floats away from the fingers in some occasions. Finally, you might do a close-up of planting the coin.

thx, I’ll fix the coin, and the elbow.

a close up of planting is a good idea …

Lot to do !

Tyring to add sounds now …

Sound added, Part One nearly finished.

http://vimeo.com/15184325

I’m quite happy with the result, as it was just an anim test at the beginning, and didn’t spent that much time doin it, wanted it simple and easy.

I’ll perhaps pimp a bit the background when making Part Two.
Also pehaps a bit work on textures to get a better visual on the main scene.

20 sec/frame is decent to rework and rerender it if needed, though it’s 1671 frames total …

The sound was added in ableton live, because this sequencer has a real nice workflow for adding sound and directly exporting a .mov, also I know it quite good. :o

First I tried to import the sounds in VSE, could work it with proxy 1 frame drop, but couldnt get a movie out of blender with sound, then I came across abletons new video feature, a pleasure to add sound with it.

Crits ?
