I have started a living room. I’m not very good at drawing in anything, so the textures are going for a cartoony feel. I’ve done the floor, and the rug, but need some help with the particles, as they look awkward.
Questions: How do I make the rug particles red, so they don’t stick out like a sore thumb?
Do the floor and rug look OK? I’m happy with the floor texture.
Edit: Updated the rug, it now looks better. Also, created and BumpMapped a couch with the noise filter.
Please C+C
Here’s an update. I’ve made and textured the wall. This pic shows of the interior with the wall, floor, sofa, and a little bit of rug in there too. Please tell me what you think.

Why aren’t I getting any C+C. I want to know if the community thinks it’s good. Personally, I think it looks fine, but I’d appreciate other opinions.
New Update! Second wall done. Going to do a table next. I knowe the walls don’t match exactly, but at this distance it’s hardly noticable. They are seperate objects, and I had to make a seperate texture for each, as only one wall is cut. I cut the door and window out with edgeloops and delete - face.

Added a Tea table, telephone table and banister now (untextured). Please, I would like some crits. I’m going back to this after a year or two of not doing anything noteworthy.

haha…i cant believe nobody replied…LOL…well the room isnt badd…i think you can improve the lighting…well everything is really blocky…so mayb add subsurf add bevel some edges so that it is not a boxy room…i honestly think you need to look at other examples of work in this forum so that you have an idea of what you are doing wrong and soo that you can also get motivated abit…so far its not bad…but i think you gotta push ur talent and imaginination to the limit…hope i’ve been of help…ill be watching this thread…good luck!
You need to become friends with the subsurf modifier. The render isn’t bad but everything has a very sharp edge to it. I think someone might hurt themselves on the corners of that couch. You could either use subsurf or put a beveled edge on the couch so it isn’t so sharp.
It’s a modern couch.
Thanks for the crits, I’ll subsurf the textured stuff where appropriate, but the tables, I think, look ok blocky, as they are tables. They aren’t known for their safe edges
