Location/Rotation doesn't work!

Hello everyone

I’m new to the site and happy to be here.

I’ve only recently started using blender and have come across an issue I can’t seem to find a solution to anywhere.

I’m trying to make an animation that I have done many times before. Start an object in one location and rotation and move it to another over a few frames. Most objects work but some of my appended objects don’t. When I move them around in the 3D view window it works fine and the values change in the transform window. But if I change the values in the transform window the object doesn’t move even though the numbers do. If I move the object again in 3D view the numbers jump back to their true values. This is causing problems with animation coz I can’t move it with the transform window and if I move them in the 3D view window the keyframes that are created are joined with a yellow bar suggesting the objects haven’t moved.

I have tries everything I can think of apart from creating the objects from scratch in the new blender file. But this would take a while.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Are there any constraints involved with the appended objects you seem to be having issues with? Are they a multi user object or parented to anything by any chance? Could you provide a blend file or a screenshot with the object/s in question?

Hi FlyingBanana
Thanks for your reply.

There aren’t any constraints that I can see nor are they parented objects.
I’m not allowed to upload yet but here is a drop box link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/j56hcygqdz7vuu1/Issue.blend?dl=0

Thanks

I would make sure f-curves for those values aren’t locked and there aren’t any modifiers there

I just took a look at your blend file and I don’t see any problem

Thanks for sharing.
That is weird. It still doesn’t work for me. Maybe there is something wrong in my preferences, although it works fine with everything else. Every now and then an object doesn’t seem to work for me.
I did eventually recreate the objects from scratch in the file I wanted to animate them in in order to bypass the issue.
I shall keep digging

Are you using 2.8? Maybe try today’s build https://builder.blender.org/download/

No not yet, still on 2.79b. Will update after this project I’m building.
