Is there a way I can select certain vertices and pin them in the 3D view so that those chosen vertices aren’t accidentally moved either by mesh editing or when sculpting?
The only method I know of is hiding the vertices - Press H on the vertices you want locked and press Alt+H to show them again.
That’s a good suggestion. I had thought of that already though was wondering if there might be a way to do so without actually having o make the area invisible… something like the idea behind pinning UVs but for 3D mesh.
Hiding does pretty much work. If there isn’t an alternative method I should be able to use it. Thanks.
no theres no way to “pin” a vertice in edit mode. just be careful around the area you don’t want to move
