If I want to skin more than two edge loops, I’m asked options that I don’t understand. I have not been able to find them in the 2.4 Reference or Manual.
For example, I have three edge loops (curves composed of a string of connected vertices) and press [F] then choose Skin Faces/Edge-Loops, I see a popup titled ‘Loft 3 edge loops’ with two options: ‘loop’ or ‘segment’. So far I haven’t seen any difference based on which one I choose. What does this choice mean?
Although I haven’t found any official documentation, by experimenting on low res loops, I’ve figured out what the options mean. They determine the direction that the skinning over multiple loops progresses. Choosing loop means that skinning will progress around all the loops simultaneously. Choosing segment means that the skinning will progress from one loop to the next. For cylinder-like shapes, segment is the correct choice, as loop produces extra edges and faces as you can see in the attached image.
