he liked it but would like a logo for general school use even better (like one that is not limited to basketball).
i’d like suggestions/clever ideas for doing this, since i haven’t been able to do this on my spare time. keep in mind it needs to be stylistic and logo-ish.
also, does anyone know a good way to render in a logo-friendly way? id be good if i could do this in 4 colors (white, black, blue, gold). so far i can only do a decent job of this using gimp.
please yell at me if this is the wrong forum to post this in.
Did you do that in Blender? It’s really cool. Very Stylized and just cool looking. I wouldn’t mind having it as my school logo.
Ive been working on a logo for an church outreach program I work with… and let me tell you it is the closest a church thing has ever been to seeming like hell. (Probably not). But they are having everyone vote and feedback… It is ridiculous! “Make this smaller” “No I like it big” “Why does it look like that” “Its a kid” “Well it could be anybody” “Who?”… Yeah it’s like that.
As far as ideas I was homeschooled so I don’t really know what goes with a school logo… or what you are trying to say with it. One thing I would suggest… and this might just be personal opinion, but give it some personality… Maybe by giving it eyes. Have you seen the atlanta thrahers logo?
What is it about this forum that attracts the infamous homeschoolers… shunned on other forums? too poor to use expensive programs? To honest to steal them? (Its a mystery)
Im kind of disapointed that I didn’t run across Blender sooner. Now I’m all growed up and running out of time… (ok not all growed up)
So Im not just cluttering this thread… here is a picture of that thrashers logo I was talking about…
See how much these Eyes give him more intensity… I think that this is one of the best Modern Era logos in sports. (as opposed to classic team logos, like the Flyers, or Redwings)
and i am homeschooled and i hate it dont get to see all my friends very much
and all the people are weird and like to sit there and be good and do schoolwork
lifeling i know how you feel! i don’t know what a school logo looks like either - im just doing it like a sport logo.
you guys are funny about your homeschooling woes. i was homeschooled for preschool. i guess that doesn’t count. “CCA” stands for Covenant Christian Academy btw.
shadeless texture - good idea.
graduation hat - maybe not. im thinking more “alma mater school pride” than “we love school”.
As it is a logo, it must be a vector image - the school will need it for anything from huge banners to small flyers. You can recreate the vector image off of the render in photoshop or illustrator (i dont know if gimp does vector), or you can use a program to convert the render to a vector image. Btw good logo
could u explain what a vector image is? my aunt was telling me the same thing (she’s a graphic artist) but didn’t say any specific terminology like that. i thought doing it with less colors was what she meant.
i could search to see if gimp does vector. im saving up for photoshop.
for the 3D version I suggest fiddling around with toon shading and using edges too. hit (F10) and the button you select should be in the Output section. on the left.
once you get something you like, turn it into a vector image.
Inkscape has a bitmap converter. in the path menu. Import the image in the file menu than use the “trace bitmap.” you should be able to find a method that works… (There are several)
Inkscape is a vector image editor by the way. the inkscape SVG or plain SVG are vector file formats.
I already tried the conversion with your image and it works quite well. It might take a little tweaking and redoing the text.
I definately Like the darker Blue better. I dont think that the border Works. I think that is effective and that it works… The toes, I do think that the toes need a little more work… they dont look right especially the one on the left. Because it breaks in half, (its split) Maybe try brining it together more or adding alittle to the top.
