Extra "O"s or "OL"s are most certainly written to enhance the effect. For example, if you write “lol”, it’s not such a loud laughter as it would’ve been if you had written “LOLOLOL” for instance. I’m starting to sound like microsoft’s guide to leet-speak… :rolleyes:
If only people were actually laughing when they wrote that 99% of the time. Usually people just say it when someone asks them a hard question like… their age. It’s almost a nervous laugh.
