Hi everyone,
I wanted to share a trip down memory lane. This was my very first “fun project” that I tackled about 2 years ago—a massive recreation of the Palace of Westminster and Big Ben.
Looking at it now with more experience under my belt, I can’t help but laugh at how I put this together. Back then, I didn’t know anything about optimization, so this scene is a chaotic nightmare of millions of polygons, unsimplified viewports, and overlapping faces galore
. If I tried to edit a vertex today, my computer would probably cry, but at the time, I was just incredibly proud to see it all come together!
It’s crazy to see how much our workflows change once we actually learn topology and scene management. I’d love to know—what did your first major “poly-bomb” look like when you were starting out?
