I have been obsessed for the last week with a program I had (only a year ago), and lost. It was a program that imported mapped obj files and exported a standalone executable…and a very small one at that. These files would let the viewer zoom, rotate and see wire or textured mode (I believe points also). I am not looking to imbed 3d objects, and I don’t want the recipients of my models to have the actual model to open in a 3d program. I have searched simtel, freshmeat, sourceforge, zdnet and so on. Can anyone help me figure this one out ? I only wish that the blender exe files were alot smaller.
Maybe you,re talking about 3D Exploration??
I also had this program before…can’t find it anymore
I think his name changed to Deep Exploration and it cost money now…anyway you can make a search for it

for 3d explorer i thinks its shareware tho and i cant see an option for converting to a .exe
Not 3d explorer. In fact…not even a program that dropped an entry in my registry, too bad for that. Now that I have been looking (for some time), I
understand how important that tool was. Did not have to imbed an applet for models to be seen, and the end viewer did not need an appliction installed to view the file. I tried explaining the need for such a tool to my brother, who is a programmer. His response was that he does not program “eye candy”. We will not go into the rest of THAT conversation.
I really need this product for an idea I have… I do not care anymore if it is freeware, shareware, or commercial. If anyone knows of such a product,
please let me know.
btw… it is really important that the files are small and standalone.
The one I had was also Windows.
