Looking for a Blender collaborator who loves experimental architecture

Hi everyone!

I’m an architecture student who loves exploring speculative spaces, computational design, and environments that challenge how we perceive architecture. Recently, I’ve become fascinated by reconfigurable materials and how simple modular systems can generate complex spatial experiences.

I already have a physical prototype and architectural model completed, and I’m now interested in recreating, extending, or even reimagining these ideas in Blender. I’m not trying to copy the model exactly, I see Blender as an opportunity to push the concept further and explore possibilities that aren’t practical to build by hand.

The system is based on repeated modular units connected through joints, where local changes can influence the overall geometry. As parts of the assembly shift, openings can transition between different states and produce new spatial conditions. I’m especially interested in how these transformations affect the feeling of being inside the space, creating moments of compression, release, ambiguity, and tension.

I’ve also experimented with wrapping parts of the structure in transparent membranes, which blur boundaries and add another layer of spatial perception as the system changes. The combination of modular transformation and translucent surfaces creates an environment that feels constantly negotiable rather than fixed.

I’m very new to Blender (I’ve only been learning for about a month), so this isn’t a request for someone to build my project for me. Instead, I’m looking for people who enjoy experimenting and would like to explore these ideas together. I believe collaboration works best when everyone contributes their own perspective, whether that’s procedural workflows, animation, geometry nodes, modeling techniques, or completely new interpretations of the concept.

I can contribute the architectural research, physical prototypes, conceptual development, references, and design process, and I’m hoping to learn from someone with more Blender experience while also sharing what I know.

I’ll attach some images of the physical model I’ve already built so you can see where the project currently stands. From there, I’d love to either recreate it digitally or take it in an entirely new direction.

If you’re passionate about experimental design, generative systems, kinetic structures, or just enjoy exploring unusual ideas, feel free to reach out. I’d be excited to collaborate, exchange knowledge, and see what we can create together.
