I know there is one, I remember seen it not so long ago about how to make a chain with curves. I’ve search in the tutorial list and here but I can’t find it. Thanks. 
Have you read the online doc?? hehe. there’s a step by step for the chain using Dupliframes:
Just make 2 joined chain links, >>>parent to a curve(try selecting curve>path)>>…then click ‘dupliframes’. If they are too close together, or too far apart just scale your original object. Then if you want to make the duplis real, just select the original object (or the path depending on which version you are using) and hit shift-ctrl-A, for ‘make duplis real’.
