Hello everybody! I’ve been working on a medium short animation movie for over almost a year now with a friend, but as it turns out, with him in university and me trying to get along in life after school and trying to find a job/experience we need more help for the project!
The project is as follow:
Working Title: Soul Trader
Logline:
Two sisters who have just lost their parents set out to find a mythical being called the Soul Trader.
In order to ask for their parents souls to return to their bodies, they must offer the creature their most prized possession.
But when they find out that their most prized possession is not what they brought, but in fact each other, one of them gets taken away. Will her sister be able to get her back?
Medium:
3D with a pastel-y painted feel (take tangled or frozen as examples), possibility of digitally painted backgrounds for the far end of the sets.
Style/Mood:
The style and mood is very folk tale like, I want to get the feelings of mystery and legend out of it.
I also want there to be a very child like feeling to most of the beginning of the story, so that upon meeting the Soul trader, things get serious and dark and have a strong impact on the viewer.

As for your rights:
You have the right to use your work in your demo reel, your name will be in the credits (unless for some strange reason you do not wish it to be), I am not able to pay, as I am doing this of my own free will.
As for ourselves:
I’m 25, I’ve studied animation for five years at Árvore (Portugal) and then at the Animation Workshop in Denmark, I stopped studying for a variety of reasons, the main one being that I cannot afford to finish my studies, but I still do what I love, and I would love to continue working on this movie with some help.
I’ve also had one year of comic and illustration, and another of film.
I’ve done a few movies over the years, mostly as an animator or as a director/producer.
I know how to animate in 2D, 3D and stop motion. Flash, blender, maya, 3Dmax, photoshop, tvpaint, and others.
I also have some experience in things like modelling, texturing, lighting and such as I try to get a feeling overall of how the entire business works so that when I need to manage it, I know how to talk to people and understand what they are saying and their needs.
This project is my own creation and desire to express a message from experience and my own need for doing what I love and learning more.
As for my fellow worker:
He is a few years younger than myself, he’s studying in the same animation school I first studied in (Árvore) and is now currently studying in Fine arts (sculpture). He’s been having a lot of classes with blender modelling, so he is currently our modeller.
