looking for Blender artists (LOWPOLY avatar outfits and furnitures 17 USD a piece)

Hello,

we are currently looking for adept Blender artists to model

  1. avatar outfits
  2. furnitures

for an anime/chibi online game. The proportion of the furnitures/outfits would be something in this style:
http://img123.imageshack.us/img123/7238/lsnm2ns8.jpg
http://www.rpgamer.com/games/loh/loh6/screens/loh6024.jpg
http://img123.imageshack.us/img123/7238/lsnm2ns8.jpg

ie. not too real-looking, but cute or pudgy.
this is a paying gig. USD 17 per clothing item / furniture all low-poly models
polycount ranges from 800-2.6k mostly per item and texture resolution depends on the size of the object ranges from 128x128 to 1024x1024

for a sample of the said list…

Tables / Bar tops / Desks Each table tile will be able to stack 1 item on top. (eg a table 2x3 will be able to hold 6 items on it)

Wardrobes / Cupboards / Dresser

Windows

Doors

Gates

Chairs / Benches / Stools / Bean bag chairs
These work in conjunction with partitions or other obstacles to restrict entry to certain parts of the room. They can be open and closed by the owner only.

Jukeboxes / Radios
Players can place these in their rooms to stream music to the room.

Plasma / LCDs

Notice board / Guest books
Players can keep a journal entry and leave messages for one another using these. Upon interaction, a panel pops up showing the contents of the board.

Display cases
Display cases function similarly to wardrobes and dresser, with the exception that items placed in a display case is visible to all avatars. Players can put rare or unique items that they wish to exhibit
in to display cases.

Trophy rack

Trash bins

and of course outfits: http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/2789/samplelz3.jpg

http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/4505/luckystar1jw1.jpg
http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/5725/luckystar2zq5.jpg

ie. the objects look like mini versions, and have the tendency to look cute, cheerful, etc. pls refer to the first post on how to send print screens of your work.

you can dl the blender file/template of the current avatar model that we use together with the sample outfit here http://www.box.net/shared/9o0jgx3k88

a few more things:
Please take note of the layers for the outfit; there are 4 poses to take care of just make sure the clothes change to fit in all 4 poses/weight mapping. The primary components of an outfit are:

hair/headwear, (if possible, make the hair color adjustable using the slider controls in blender)

topwear,

bottomwear,

and footwear… optional is facewear: eg glasses and beards

regarding the door etc, just use the avatar model in the blender file as your basis for the proportion, as well as the printscreens in this thread to make the objects in their mini/cute version and you’ll be
alright.

interested applicants may send their samples to chisaikame (at) hotmail (dot) com. You can also visit/try the game (a work-in-progress) our website at www.fresboworld.com

Many thanks!

LOL hello there (we are friends on LASTfm) ;]

Be sure to join the Blender 3D group on Last.FM too!

A bit more specific maybe?

how low poly? max texture resolution?

our polycount ranges from 800-2.6k mostly per item and texture resolution depends on the size of the object ranges from 128x128 to 1024x1024

thanks for asking.

I will help possible but I would like to know what kind of stuff you actually want modelled…

well… the avatar outfits as well as furnitures (ordinary furnitures) are in 2D so they must be modeled in blender.

it would look something like (albeit in an isometric view point) http://img123.imageshack.us/img123/7238/lsnm2ns8.jpg

hello there nice to see you Migero san! lolz.

i’ll be in last.fm shortly

ok, tnx man!

im interested, but do you have a website?

…yea. http://www.fresboworld.com/

there’s not much content yet though. pls refer to the first post on how you could email samples of your work. tnx.

O sorry i didn’t see it in the first post

here is some stuff i did for a game before
http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?t=114247

you can use these if you want but they might be too realistic and i would have to export them for you

I’d be interested, got a more concrete list of stuff you want modeled?
I’ve taken a quick look at the forums, but couldn’t find some more specific guidelines.

ya, same here

oh sorry about that, the printscreen in first post became a broken link; anyway, for a sample of the said list…

@_@ this looks damn good

You’ve put in some good pictures.

yes, so I’m guessing you’re going for a kind of mysims look. Another question regarding dimensions and wardrobes though.
Do you have a plain template character/characters to design the clothes around? and what are the desired dimensions for objects? (like 2BU high and 0.5 or 0.7 BU wide for doors, etc)

you can dl the blender file/template of the current avatar model that we use together with the sample outfit here http://www.box.net/shared/9o0jgx3k88

you can visit the actual work-in-progress of the game by visiting the site in the first post as well as the email to send your works. Many thanks!

This looks like an interesting opportunity, and some co-workers and I may be interested in making content for your game (I would probably be more interested in making furniture and props). Do I understand from the screenshots you’ve posted that you are trying to duplicate the style of Lucky Star Moe Drill?

I’ve downloaded your template, and it seems pretty straight-forward. Just so I can understand better what you need: What objects do you have already? I don’t want to duplicate efforts that others have already made. Do you want the style to be exactly like the Lucky Star game, or do you have any other stylistic guidelines I should be aware of? Also, what type of polygon count limits are you looking for?

If you would like to contact me, please feel free to do so by PM. BTW, I’m also interested in knowing which service you would like to use to make payment if you accept any submissions I may make.

Looking forward to the possibility of working with you,
Tony DiRienzo
