Looking for feedback before I spend more time on this scene?

I’ve been learning Blender for a few months and I’m working on a small interior scene. The modelling is mostly finished, but something still feels “off” and I can’t tell whether it’s the lighting, the materials, or the camera angle. I’ve spent hours tweaking things and now I think I’ve looked at it for too long to judge it objectively.

Before I continue refining it, I’d love to hear what experienced artists usually look at first. When a render doesn’t feel realistic, do you normally start by fixing the lighting, improving the materials, or changing the composition? I’d really appreciate any advice because I want to improve my workflow instead of randomly changing settings.

It would be helpful to see what you have so far, otherwise everyone is just guessing.

When beginning its often lacking on all layers of a 3D scene: composition, lighting, model quality (geo + textures) and colors. Try to stick to references as close as possible. You will learn a lot from this. And try not to use too much color in your scene - this makes it easier in the beginning. Good luck!

Hi and welcome, unfortunately there is an anti bot measure that means that new members can not post images.

You can get over that quickly if you log in (for more than just 1 minute) read a few posts (logged in) and give a like or make a comment etc.

I gave you a like to see if that helps but it is really a case of just sticking around a bit and interacting.

In my personal experience, if you are not satisfied with the result, the modeling seems to be the biggest factor.

Next is the influence of lighting. It is difficult to say for sure without any information to evaluate, though.

If you are not satisfied even with the clay rendering, try refining the modeling further.
