I want to set up a little web site based on one of those (supposedly) free hosts.
What hosts do you lot recommend?
Currently loooking @ http://www.freewebz.com/ which looks quite nice.
Need help :|. Pointers in the right direction would be start.

the one your isp gave you
some space
enough traffic (not for animations, but whatever)
hotlinking
and no advertisements
(I use eartlink, most isps do simlar)
I went for cheap and cheerful ISP no space just a 512 link and an e-mail address maybe i can upgrade but for now just want to get my hands dirty if you know what i mean.
That’s the exact same thing I do (except my ISP isn’t earthlink), and it works extremely well. Although I wish it had PHP/MySQL, it works perfectly fine for just hosting images and stuff.
I understand how hard it is to find a good webhost, because there are so few, if none, that are really good and will be around for more than a year.
