Looking for height maps of mountains

Hi all!

I’m looking for detailed height maps of earth, especially of mountain ranges and Ayers Rock, to recreate them in 3d. I tried the NASA website, and Google but couldn’t really find anything useful.
I’m hoping someone knows a good resource, or just has a few single images.

The USGS (United States Geo[graphical|logical] Service) provides height maps, google for that combination. Hm… leads to this, maybe it helps.

also try google ‘location name + ‘DEM’’ (digital elevation model)
