Looking for information on how to sculpt stylized clothing

There seems to be a big lack of information how to do sculpt clothing wether it’«s stylized or realistic, and I’m just shooting in the dark for the most part.

My stuff seems to look quite lumpy and it’s difficult to find information on the subject.

This is what I have:

And what I want it to get it to look like:

What is the workflow for clothing?

Maybe this will help a bit

A lot of times, clothing isn’t directly sculpted- a low poly mesh is used for cloth simulation and fitting, then surface deforms binds details

References!

Apart from that it’s just working tirelessly to improve your sculpting skills.

In Blender we also often use the cloth brush.

And my main sculpting artist uses Zbrush.

But regardless is it the 2 first things I said.

  1. Get good reference material
  2. Work at it over and over until you can replicate realistic folds etc.

Maybe start simple.

The guy in this video has been working at my studio for over 10 years!

I have watched him grow.

Outside of work, he always takes on personal projects to improve his skill.

You can start with a simple low-poly version, using vertex groups and the Solidify modifier. This is the workflow I always use for stylized characters. To add more detail, You can apply the modifiers, add a Multires modifier, and continue with some sculpting.
