Is there away to make loop cuts in a triangle mesh? I know I can use the knife tool to make a cut but, I want to make 7 and 13 loop cuts that are spaced apart evenly, in a triangle mesh, to make standing seams in a metal roof. since this is a triangle mesh the standing seams will be different sizes towards the end of the triangle. i did think, maybe use a knife tool to a plane and cut out a triangle shape that I need after I made the loops cuts in a plane?[ATTACH=CONFIG]286063[/ATTACH] here is a image I am trying to make

Select all, and go to side view

Click on Mesh -> Transform -> Shear (or if you want to do some finger gymnastic, press SHIFT+CTRL+ALT+S for the shortcut) then press Y for the axis and move the mouse (or type a value) to shear the mesh to the angle you wish

Go into top view, make sure everything is selected and click on the Spin button (or press ALT+R for the shortcut)

Don’t worry, with the default Spin setting it’s normal, now press F6 and modify the Spin setting to those values and as you’ll see it will give the desired result

Select all and press W -> Remove Doubles , then press CTRL+N to recalculate the normals.
Then select those faces

Press E then extrude

After that you’ll just need to add the cross section on top of this
For the top cross section, to make it even more easily, before the shear/spin/extrude , select that edge :

Press W -> Subdivide

In top view, press K (for the knife), press C (to constraint it to view angle) and move the knife on that vertice (a green square will appear) and click

Then move your mouse (helped by the view constraint) and click to cut there

Do the same process for the other side

Now as in the example from my previous post, do the Shearing step, then use the Spin function, select all , W-> Remove Double -> CTRL+N.
And now select those faces

Press E to extrude

Now unselect those

And press E to extrude that top part a little bit
