I know that you can force particles to follow a (circular) path.
I noticed the magnetic force and was wondering if it is possible to make the particles follow along a magnetic path, like shown in the following image:
Are there any tutorials for doing this with magnetic fields in Blender? Does this functionality even exist? If not, how would you emulate it?
Essentially, I am looking to make fire (or plasma) arc along magnetic paths such as those shown above. (Note how the iron filings at the magnet’s ends do not fully arc all the way around; also note that there are “distinct” lines that appear – it would be great to emulate all of that behaviour.)
Hints, tips, suggestions, and .blend files are all welcome and greatly appreciated.
