Lossless into Davinci Resolve?

Anyone know what Blender animation file output format to use in order to get Davinci Resolve to read a lossless file?

I can get it to read compressed files just fine, but it refuses to import lossless files, or just says “media offline”…

Are you using the free version of Resolve? If so, read this thread:

Can you elaborate on “lossless”? It’s a very relative term.
EXR is the only real output choice and if Resolve can’t load them it may be limitation of the free version. That seems unlikely though given they’d want to properly demonstrate Fusion.
Other than EXR, you should check the supported codec list pdfs in the linked thread above and transcode your rendered EXR sequences to some variation of either DNxHD or ProRes if they’re supported.

Oh geez…don’t do that! Render out to EXR, it’s the only way to fly.

Absolutely.

H.264 is a delivery codec and the only time it should be used is for previews and final delivery. Even then, I’d want to deliver in DNxHR or ProRes unless specifically asked for H264. Admittedly I don’t know the state of ProRes on Windows these days but I have no issues working with it on Linux.
Render EXR files and work from those.
