Heres another midnight madness blend. I threw it together last night, but now it’s time for breakfast. I know there is many flaws, but I can fix the little picky things later. Everything (but textures of course) is blender, no postprocessing. Each blade on every fern plant is a seperate mesh, as is every rock. The vine is a subsurf plane continually extrududed and resised/postioned. Let me know if you have any suggestions.
i dunno why, but it looks to me like an underwater scene. try to make an aquatic background version, will ya? It’ll look good. That monkey really looks like a lost treasure
Your right, the big plants do kind’ve look ‘floaty’, and there is a blue tint to things. I can see where that impressions would come from. It is a good idea and I’ll think I’ll try it. I can get rid of some of these high poly ferns, they’re driving me crazy
nice idea and initial composition, but i think there could be some simple changes to make it more dramatic.
first thing i noticed was that there is no shadows. since it seems to be night-time, with no apparent light source, shadows should be dark but soft-edged. they’ll add some much needed contrast too.
i like the idea of underwater, because it seems to suit the plants etc. especially the roundness of the stones. if you don’t go for underwater, make the background pitch black, or add some variety with larger plants or something, and add a couple of sharp edges to the stones.
finally i would say either move the whole thing to the left a bit or to the right a bit, the overall balance of the image is off.
Very cool. I like the sketchy look to it. If your going for an abstract look then I’d say it’s absolutly spectacular, except for the strange blur in the bottom of the picture. If you want a more photoreal look, then you need to work on the background. If you want a background, I’d put a jungle background behind it.
