Lost the default scene

Hello,

I’ve hit mistakenly a CRTL+U while working on a scene, which has made this scene the defalut scene.
How can I get the original def. scene back?
For the moment, I logged in as another user, launched blender, saved the default scene, opened it in my own user session, and then hit CRTL+U.
Is there any other and simpler way to achieve this result?

Thanks

Not really, that’s about it.

I suspect that most people here have their “own” “default” scene. Mine is certainly different than the installed default.

In fact if I’m testing something, or just feeling really lazy, I’ll hit CTR-U to make whatever I’m working on the default

Actually, any default scene would do, but just one thing was annoying me. There were materials in the scene, which I wanted to get rid of. (I don’t know, I can’t assume having a non-material-blank default scene… kind of a psychotic behavior maybe  )
But I could not find the way to permanently delete the unused materials and textures… I thought this was possible, but I could not see how I would do that.
Any suggestion?

Yes. Find the file .B.blend and delete it.

Just delete all links to the material (so that it has an ‘O’ in front in the material-list. Then save and reload the file - all unused materials (and other unused stuff like meshes,…) is gone.

xla

Thanks for the tips!
