I’m not sure this can compete with yours
But it is 100% blender and only with Procedural textures (Not even T_Plugins…)

Nice. I like it. But maybe tweaking the shadow sided ocean a bit?
Nice render Stefano!
But your supposed to be doing something else?
BgDM
Hell Yeah it competes!!
The land and sea look at least as good if not better than mine, Mesh detail will always beat a texture hands down.
The spec on the sea is pretty damn good too.
The only problem is the Cloudlayer and the fact that there is no atmospheric glow
A bit more tweaking and you’ll whomp my ass into next week
wow, that is very cool! all procs? how did u get the green to fade away at the center of the land masses?!?!?
Thanx
How? suggestions please!
YUP!
But at the price of 517897 vertices!
Thanx, this I didn’t found much difficult
The cloud layer makes me crazy, currently it is:
40 concentric dupliframed spheres going from sea surface upwards.
1st texture is a global Blend-sphere with colormap imposing alpha=0 everywhere except into two thin shells around 3km and 7km above ground (kmeters? actually tenths of Blender units…) THis should make two soft cloud layers
2nd texture is a Glob Wood Ring Noise again with colorband setting alpha to 0 everywhere except in banded patterns, this causes the cloud mass to split in the big group left and in few stripes on the right
3rd texture is a Glob Cloud texture, at last!
But since light is anyway received by the spherical surfaces the result is not that good.
I would gladly accept any hints for atmospheric glow
Global Blend-Sphere with colormap again…

Hey wow Doi-oi-oinggg! :o
O.k… here is my feeble view on matter. The shadow sided ocean looks more like rough asphalt like surface than water. so tone the bump map down tinsy bit and llittle less spec. Me thinks that would do it.
But other than that I just love it.
Very impressive ! One question, aren’t the mountains too high ? Well, just a thought I’ve never been in the space to check out…
I’ll try
Well, it is a tiny little planet, radius 1000 km, so smaller than our moon, that’s why regular mountains looks so hig
