I set viewport to Wireframe before every render. I’ve never topped 30Gb Vram usage, even with adaptive displacement (although not on every mesh). Usually it’s 18Gb at auto tile size (using a gazillion 4k textures)
30GB is a lot. My RTX4090 has 24GB. I got a Mac with 64 and with 14 GB, but then on Mac its not all used for GPU. Anyway, by time this problem may vanish either through software or hardware
119 dollars? You can’t be serious
Right?!
Insert…nope, flip…insert…nope… Are you kidding me?!
ETA: frack me, a $120 USB adapter…
Apple has also placed the power button at the bottom of the mini. That’s spectacular! That’s our fruit company.
While you can easily get an order of magnitude cheaper one elsewhere, this really does reinforce the idea they Apple is out to rip people off. Like are the profits on these really worth the negative mindshare? I’d really like to hear their explanation for why it costs this much.
Guys, it was a joke. The adapter only costs an incredible $19. It’s worth buying a few dozen before they run out.
Ha telling that it’s plausible to most of us. Should have done $999. Oh wait Pro Display stand.
Apple Design never fails to amaze!
I can already imagine how people will place the mini on their desktop:
It’s to reinforce behavior.
Do I ever turn my mac studio off? nope …
The fastest machine to be released this week will likely be a MacBook Pro with an M4 Max. Should be a good machine though. Mac Studio next year.
I can’t wait until these new machines get into the hands of someone who can do some benchmarks on them. Unfortunately Apple’s speed comparisons leave a lot to be desired.
What do you mean, do terms like faster app opening or 1.5x faster photoshop filter say nothing to you?
I’m ready for the Mac Studio M4. Thank you Apple!

M4 Max Mac Book Pro 14" with 1Tb/64Gb and maxed out CPU/GPU comes out to $3,899.00. It’s very likely that this machine blows the Mac Studio M2 Ultra out of the water for processing and rendering, effectively making this computer the new king of the hill at a slightly better price than the M2 Ultra.
Once again, I can’t wait until we get some real benchmarks for this, I’m very excited to find out exactly how much faster rendering is on these new Macs.
I am very excited about the performance! In any case, the Mac is really back in the 3D sector. Thanks to the Mac people at Apple!
