I mean LuxMark and not LuxCore:
(Barefeats tests)
Yup, you said LuxMark and not LuxCore… my bad.
This is sure an interesting effect, never really had payed attention to it but I guess tile size is not that important anymore.

yes watching TV and testing some scenes
Also very impressed that the fan stayed off on the GPU all 6 minutes.
Thanks for sharing the numbers. ![]()
I feel ya on playing around while soaking in some TV.
I’m running 5 simulations all day.
Watching everyone get their compiles running while posting numbers from their various machines is actually the most exciting thing going, for me.
I can’t risk f-ing up my current production build or I would join you guys.
I sure found a nice stress test for the GPU rendering.
Sinosauropteryx Prima
The M1Pro with 16 GB sure can not manage that at 2048 tile size, estimated time 3 hours
Tile size 512 seems to do ok… looking like about 12 min, edit finished in 13:15.93
2048 to 512 reduces Blender memory use like 10 GB.
Next would be Disney’s Maona file, but that thing is like 90GB if I remember correctly.
yeah would have to download that first.
Blender supports USD now right?
I just compared the 14 m1 max 24 core vs 32 core…
classroom
32 core - 1:47.53
24 core - 2:07.76
junk shop 1024 samples
32 core - 48.20
24 core - 52.71
BMW GPU
32 core - 42.25
24 core - 47.85
Interesting a lot less of a difference than I thought, would love to see a 16” 32 in comparison.
that is 8-16 % faster but 25% more cores.
Yup, it does now.
and not USDZ grrr
you are tempting me
also guess tile size is important when memory limited.
Sinosauropteryx Prima
2048 tile, game up 3 hour estimate
512 tile, 13:15.93
Does someone with more memory feel like trying it?
was junk shop really 1024 samples that seems way to fast. 124ish samples should make sense with the time I am seeing.
I know. That fact is a little irritating. Maybe it’s on Apple’s list…?
could we not just unzip it?
A usdz package is an uncompressed zip archive that is allowed to contain the following file types:
Kind Allowed File Types USD usda, usdc, usd Image png, jpeg Audio M4A, MP3, WAV
The rest of the section goes into more detail about the specification.
Yes it kinda works but materials seem broken the . Did try a small file from sketchfab.
I got slightly (except for Junkshop) different results with my 24core 14". All ran from files on external SanDisk SSD v2, but I don’t see a difference using it compared with internal.
yes I think he mistyped on the junk shop settings
Wow, this thread’s hopping now!
I cannot for the life of me get Monster under the bed open… idk what I did different from Remyglass
Not sure. I don’t know the differences with all the diffrent USD formats. All the diffrent formats of USD kinda goes against the “U” in USD. lol
