I’ve recently started using Blender, and my main machine is a Mac running OS X 10.3. Everything works fine except the middle mouse button, which I have pan view attached, will not release once I click it. I doesn’t matter what I have assigned to middle mouse it won’t release after I have clicked. Is this a bug with the program? Is anyone else having this problem?
I’m not sure about specifics, but this may have been fixed very recently, and will be in the next release:

Awesome - I’ve had the same problem.
My workaround is in the ‘view & controls’ preferences, set the ‘emulate 3-button mouse’ button (ensuring your selection method is ‘right mouse button’).
You have to use Option/Alt to rotate the view, but if you accidentally use the MMB, you just have to Option/Alt+Click to get out of the locked state.
Hope that helps, if you haven’t done it already.
I had this problem too. I found that on a really low end machine with an 8MB video card, it locked immediately. The only thing I could do to release it was to move the mouse to one of the panels and left-click. Nice to know it’ll be fixed.
Thanks dexstruh, I thought I had tried that, but hey now it works. I sometimes ping-pong between pc and mac so that’ll be fun, but atleast it doesn’t lock the click now.
just to add an air of weirdness to this, it used to work fine when I first started using it on this mac, but only on one of the 3 logins. Then recently it stopped working under that login too. :Z OOOOOOoooooooOOOOOOOO. :o
