Magic carpet like Aladin

Well, the breakdown at the end of the video seems to point out the essential characteristics pretty clearly.

From my look at it, it seems that the carpet is composed of a narrow, finely-subdivided cube. (Subdivide a plane many times, then extrude it slightly along Y.) The “subdivision surface” modifier and perhaps “bevel” is probably then used to make it slightly rounded.

The armature appears to consist of a series of parallel bones, with four more diagonal bones to control the corners of the carpet. All of it carefully placed to be symmetrical, equally spaced along Z, and centered on X, as it all must be. The video doesn’t show the vertex groups that are controlled by each bone, but default weight mappings would probably do nicely.
