Magnetic Field Generation in Blender

I’d like to share my recent work on using Blender to solve physics equations such Biot-Savart Law which describe the magnetic field generated from a current. I’m using Blender’s geometry nodes to do this, the images below show some magnetic field plots for different types of coils!

Magnetic field of a 3-turn solenoid

Magnetic field inside a toroid

Magnetic of an odd-shaped coil

Render of a 8-turn solenoid on a PCB and its magnetic field

Fun animation video showing how the magnetic field changes as the coil dimensions change

Neat! Can you tell me how you modelled the 2nd img? Or is that GN as well?

Thanks! Yes the toroid image was done mostly in geometry nodes, used a spiral curve and then curve modifier for the windings

I featured you on BlenderNation, have a great weekend!
