Hallo all,
I’m working on a expandable fortress project on which a sort of model-castle will build itself up on out kitchen table, I’ve got all wheels on a good synchronized turning speed on the first 100 frames. is there a way to just repeat this movement over however much time I want the wheels to turn, instead of having to go the the last frame and doing it all over again?
Thanks!,
Ristridyn
Hi
I’d be inclined to use drivers on this one.
This way you can key in only the rotation of one (or few) cogs and drive the others from that. They will all be ratios of their radii. The vertical movement much the same.

Thanks for your advice, and the file! this works great
Pleasure. Meant to mention, you might want to add a dummy object (circle) to each gear , or a custom property for the gear radius, since the radius of the gear will be less that the dimension of the gear ( somewhere in the teeth). You could drive delta rotation instead of rotation too.
Excellent model. Give me a hoy if you post up some animations, please.
Here you’ve a AO render of the animated fortress, In the end I did use keyframes instead of the driver since I simply didn’t understand the driver enough to use it
but t worked out fine I think.
