Make textures baked or use separate textures?

Hi, I’m making map for game (exactly FS17) and I’m wondering about texturing: I can get nice AO effect with baking in cycles but on the other hand 2k texture takes 16MB of VRAM, so If I would want to make 100 baked textures it will be over 1,5GB of VRAM… What do you think? What’s better; making baked 2/4k texture or unwrap it separatly with 512 textures?
