MakeHuman Question--Mysterious Polys

I’m using the MakeHuman mesh as basis for a character I’m building. I’m whittling it down to a half-head for ease of editing and ditching the stuff I won’t need. I’m wondering about the little ring of polys about 2 eye-diameters back in the skull behind the eyeball. Does it serve a purpose that I ought to know about, perhaps in rigging? Or should I just treat it as unnecessary and delete it?

Figured it out on another figure–it’s just the eyelash polys inside the skull…
