Good evening everyone! Just finished modeling a third rail (its the thing for powering a train) and i think it’s kinda bad… Any tips what i can improve and maybe change?

If you do this just for yourself, don’t dwell too much on details, you might get too bogged down on things you probably don’t enjoy. Try not to stress it too much, go with “what works” and improve things on a go, as you learn more shortcuts and tricks! Keep learning by “making mistakes”!

Blockouts for the major parts help. Nearly everything can be almost tweaked to fit into a dozen primitives. Then, at least you have something in the viewport to scale and chop away at until it looks better. I’m no Master though so…I just like making things.
try reduce amount of poly… you’ve got already 5mln poly…

hey, so this was a bad idea, your model actually almost tripled amount of triangles, its because im doing everything in real life size, but thanks anyway, its bery kind of your to reac out and try to help me, i change your model a bit and now its around 12k
