Making character squat with Hip bone.

How do I tweak my character’s Hip bone again, so that she squats/sits when it is dragged down in pose mode please?
I can’t seem to get it right - do I need to have limit location constraints on the feet? The character is ultimately for export to a unity game possibly via .fbx so I’m not sure using lots of constraints is ideal.

Basically: fiddle around with the two hip bones’ parent relationships. He’s also not worried about using limit loc constraints as it’s only the mesh data that ends up getting used.
