So I’m dual booting Ubuntu 12.10 to see how well I can transfer from Windows, and so far it’s okay. However, I want to create a Blender icon for the launcher, but there’s no way I can tell to do it. You can’t just right click and make one. You can do a workaround in the terminal and create a shortcut then put it in the launcher, but it doesn’t use the Blender icon. I even tried locking Blender to the launcher when it was open, but it never opened again when I clicked the Blender icon in the launcher.
This is the type of oddity that makes me second guess switching to Linux. It’s little things that bother me the most. The rest seems pretty straight forward, and I don’t mind using the terminal when I have to. Anyone with advice? If this is the wrong section, sorry.
