making strand thickness much bigger

Hey, I am rendering a few pics at the moment, using the new “strands” in blender.

This is all well and good on little pics, but when I make the picture much bigger, the strands are too thin. This is because they are based on pixel widths, which means when I make the piccie twice as big the hair goes half the thickness.

Is there a way of getting past the 20 pixel limit in blender?

Thanks,

Ian

in material buttons, click on “strands” with an up and down arrow in the material/ramps tab, then mess around with the sliders

Unless I am missing something, the sliders limit you to a maximum size of 20, but I want to go bigger. It wont let me enter it numerically, either.

Edit: I’m an idiot, this wont work:
[WRONG]Since the pics I am doing atm are with an orthagonal camera, it doesnt matter as much, because I can use several cameras on smaller resolutions, but it’s a bit annoying.[/WRONG]
