Making viewport faster for highpoly modeling

I have a pretty humble setup, not the best but not that bad. Still, with high poly models you can expect blender to run a little bit slower. That’s fine, I just can’t remember this option I learned from a long time ago where the mesh on the viewport becomes blurry or pixelated when you move the viewport camera for faster navigation. Is this still available in 2.8? I can’t even remember the name of that option. Nowadays when you search for how to speed up blender, its always giving results about cycles or eevee.
